In collaboration with Operaestate Festival Veneto in Bassano del Grappa, Italy, CODA is sending Magnus Myhr for a residency to stimulate his artistic development. This is part of CODA's strategy to deveolpe strong Norwegian dance voices, and introduce the world to Norway, and vice versa!
Roberto Casarotto showed interest for the Norwegian dance scene, and we decided to develop this residency, with the hope of it becoming an established route for Italian and Norwegian dance to meet and develope each other.
Between the 19th - 30th of November, Magnus Myhr will travel to Bassano where he will be given studio time, chance to work with other artists, and showcase his work for audiences. Joingin him is the experienced dance artist Terje Tjøme Mossige.
Magnus' goal for the residency:
During my residency I am interested in exploring the idea of the duet. I have two projects in my mind, both a physical duet between two people, and a duet between a man and his harp. Through body, sound and music, I want to create a fundament for what can be the starting point for two new performances/projects. I will use the time in Bassano to research these ideas with my collaborator Terje Tjøme Mossige through practicing intuition, discussion, improvisation and reflection.
We wish you the best of luck, Magnus! And can't wait to see what you bring back from this experienc.
Thank you as well, to Roberto and Bossano for this collaboration. Hopefully the forst of many!
