Frozen Songs

Inside the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, in the cold and dark, the source of life and beginning of everything is kept. Under the direction of the UN, the world stores its future here.

This scenario forms the backdrop to the production Frozen Songs by celebrated Norwegian choreographer Ina Christel Johannesen. She has with her dancers from her ensemble zero visibillity corp., two Chinese video artists and Belgian musical duo Stray Dogs, in addition to her regular collaborators over several years on scenography, costumes and sound design.

This is a dance performance marked by high energy levels in the physical movement material, combined with poetic and often theatrical elements. The combination of scenography, light design and music creates an experience out of the ordinary. The performance is an exciting encounter between international and Norwegian artists, who together offer a unique experience centered around an important and timely theme: survival.

Frozen Songs is produced by zero visibility corp., Hålogaland Teater and Ibsen International.
